    Is it OK to take tablets for Fever without consulting with Doctor?

    Thanks for posting your query.

    Fever has multiple causes like exhaustion, exertion, excessive sports, viral, bacterial, chronic (tuberculosis) or serious infections.

    In the case of acute onset, say fever lasting for a day or two: take Paracetamol 650 mg if you are an adult (for children the dose varies based on the body weight, consult your doctor) once in 4-6 hours. If the fever does not subside in 2-3 doses, it is advised to consult a doctor.

    It would be better if you take prescribed paracetamol for fever.
